about

Probably what many people would consider the quintessential Kafka Dreams track (my dad still asks me if we're going to play this one at every show we schedule.) I think this song really captured the ethos of what we were doing-the Mogwai style build-up wed to the Dinosaur Jr. type guitar inferno, with a bit of melancholy holding everything together. This version features a second guitar solo by Ben, which I always liked. He and Matt both felt all that soloing made the song run way too long (although on Ben's end I think he was being really self-critical.) I know they were right, but something about the excess of it really appeals to me, like I was appeasing my latent Slayer influence.
