about

A crushed out ode to Bardo Pond's Isobel Sollenberger disguised as a suicide anthem. This song was also conceived as an illustrative response to the Meowth/Meowzy episode of "Pokemon" (look it up-it's a heartbreaker.) This was one of Matt's favorites because it was the only one of our songs that really displayed any true dynamic range, or allowed us to play quietly. This was played live every so often and usually became brutally loud because of all the echoes and delays. I wrote this song after hearing Mogwai's "Hugh Dallas." I was trying to write something very pretty but ultimately very loud and despondent. The lyrics were based on a poem I read in high school. I don't remember who wrote it or what it was called, but it hit me incredibly hard and informed a lot of my lyrical aestheticism.
