It's kind of amazing to me how little this song changed. I never thought I would be the kind of person that played a guitar solo the same way every performance, but by the time we laid this version down the solo was set and I rarely deviated from it. Also amazing to me is how truly awful my vocals were before working with Adam on the record proper. I wrote this song immediately after hearing "Motr" by Trans Am. Lyrically it's no secret to anyone who knows me who this song was about, and I think when she first heard it, she accused me of immaturity. She was right, but I was fucked up and depressed then and didn't have any other way to channel it.
